Miscommunications
Miscommunications is a series of composited self-portraits that explores the complexity of intimate relationships. Through the use of duplication, my photographs explore the internalized feelings of frustration that both people share in a relationship. Throughout these seemingly candid snapshots, I recreate my personal experiences of miscommunication in past relationships as a means to understand my role and grow from these situations. There is a complicated nature that coincides with intimate relationships; this project rebels against the stereotypical depictions of relationships by illustrating the nuanced and mundane moments shared between two people that are not often depicted.
